About the Artist

I was born and raised in Tucson, AZ and I will forever be a desert rat at heart! I moved to Texas to complete my education and will soon be adding a third state to my list of homes as I am planning a move to Colorado. I graduated from Texas State University, San Marcos in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts with EC-12 Certification.

Over the past six years, I have had the great opportunity to work with a wide range of age groups and a diverse population of students. I started my teaching career at Dessau Elementary School in Pflugerville, TX. I ran the art program at DES for five years and was blessed to work with amazing students and staff. This year I was given a great opportunity to work at Princeton High School in Princeton, TX. I  had a ball learning to work with older students! I am currently teaching art at Castle Rock Elementary. I work with K-6 students. Every day is an amazing adventure!

I am a teacher and an artist. I try my best to maintain a career in both fields. I am constantly creating, whether it is for my students, myself or for a commission. I have a wide range of media that I use and enjoy. My favorite lately has been watercolors.

Outside the art world, I enjoy a happy home with my husband, step-sons, dog and cat. We enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, dressing up in costume, exploring this amazing world. I also enjoy riding my unicycle, spinning poi, gardening and practicing yoga. Family is incredibly important to me so I also spend a great deal of time with those that are dearest to me!
